Consistency Is Key: The Story Behind Inner Wealth’s Success

Summer Kang was just 18 when she sat down to record the first episode of Inner Wealth. Three years later, at 21, she has released 132 episodes (at the time of writing this), reached listeners in more than 125 countries and topped the self-improvement charts.

Frankly Podcasting has been alongside Summer since the start. Together we launched the show, kept every episode polished, and built the habits that have carried her through three years of weekly releases. This is the story of what she's built, and why showing up every week has made all the difference.

A Frankly Podcasting Client Success Story: Summer Kang, Inner Wealth

Why 132 episodes is such a big deal

Most podcasts don't last long. The industry even has a name for it: "podfade", when a show quietly stops releasing new episodes. The numbers are sobering:

  • Around 47–90% of podcasts stop after 3 episodes or fewer.

  • Around 70–80% never make it past 7 to 10 episodes.

  • Reaching 20 episodes puts a show in the top 1% of all podcasts.

  • Only about 5–6.5% of podcasters ever reach 100 episodes.

Summer passed 100 episodes and kept going. She has released a new episode every week since launch, with only a few planned breaks over the holidays. That puts her in the small group of podcasters who make it past the century mark, and she did it while still in her early twenties.

If there's one lesson in her story, it's this: consistency is key. Every week she shows up, her listeners know they can count on her, and that trust is what grows a show.

The results

Three years of showing up has paid off. Here's where Inner Wealth stands today:

  • 132 episodes released

  • Over 120,000 total downloads

  • 600+ downloads every week, consistently

  • Listened to in over 125 countries

  • Ranked in the top 2% of self-improvement podcasts globally

  • Reached #1 in the self-improvement charts

These numbers didn't come from one viral moment. They grew episode by episode, built on a listener base that keeps coming back every week.

What listeners are saying

The stats tell one part of the story. The messages Summer receives tell the rest. Listeners write to her about replaying episodes, sharing them with friends, and feeling like she's speaking directly to them.

How we’ve worked together

Summer brings the voice, the ideas and the heart. Our role at Frankly Podcasting has been to give her the support to keep showing up, week after week.

  • Launching the show. We started from the ground up, shaping the podcast's direction and getting Inner Wealth out into the world.

  • Polished episodes, every week. We edit and produce each episode so it sounds clean and professional, leaving Summer free to focus on her message.

  • Building consistency. A weekly schedule is hard to sustain alone. We plan ahead, build in breaks around the holidays, and keep the release rhythm steady.

  • Coaching along the way. Summer started as an 18-year-old with something to say. Through ongoing coaching, she's grown into a confident host with a voice listeners return to every week.

Working with Summer from her very first episode has been one of the highlights of our work. Watching her confidence grow, and seeing how many people her words reach, never gets old.

What Summer’s story teaches us

You don't need a big following, a studio or years of experience to start a podcast that matters. Summer started at 18 with a message she believed in. What made the difference was showing up, every single week.

If you've been thinking about starting a podcast, or you've started one and found it hard to keep going, you don't have to do it alone. Support with the editing, the planning and the confidence can be what keeps your show going past episode 10, and all the way to episode 100 and more.

You can listen to Inner Wealth with Summer Kang on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and wherever you get your podcasts.
